Menlo Park, CA, February 4, 2009 – Interviewed about the prospects of his industry, Adura Systems, Inc.’s CEO, Marv Bush, is excited about the new Obama administration’s $150 billion energy initiative to invest in cleantech.  When asked how can the automotive industry comply with renewed emission reduction goals, he stated “With the Obama organization putting pressure on industry to comply with California standards, it’s a great boom for the HEV industry.”

Adura Systems specializes in extreme high fuel efficiency and near-zero emission plug-in HEV propulsion systems, and recently completed a technology demonstrator at its Menlo Park headquarters.  “Emission [costs] in most countries are being talked about at $10 per ton.  Our technology saves roughly 37,000 metric tons of emissions per bus [life].  At $10 per ton, each bus could generate $370,000 of revenues based on emissions [credit],” Mr. Bush explained.

What is his advice to the new Obama administration?  “What I think Obama should basically do is ... work hand-in-hand to support new investment in new technologies ... whether it’s Adura-EV or other companies.  There’s a huge marketplace across the world.  There needs to be companies like Adura-EV tackling these problems and moving forward,” concluded Mr. Bush.  When asked if industry can tackle these problems, Bush is agnostic, industry is primarily based on building mechanical solutions.  They build great transmissions, engines, and design great cars.  However, Silicon Valley and other such areas have the electronics and software expertise to drive the next generation of clean technology. As a result, Bush is convinced that Obama’s administration should be teaming up with start-ups and fueling their innovation.
